00:00The government continues to roll out programs aimed at ensuring food security for the country's poorest communities.

00:06Currently, 300,000 households, or approximately 1.5 million individuals,

00:11received a 3,000 pesos monthly food subsidy to help them purchase essential goods.

00:17The government is also reviewing a report from the Social Weather Stations, or SWS,

00:22which revealed 27.2% of Filipinos have experience in voluntary hunger due to a lack of food.

00:29Aside from financial aid, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, or DSWD,

00:34has established the Walang Gutom Kitchen in Pasay City.

00:37Meanwhile, the Department of Agriculture is intensifying efforts to increase food production.

00:42The agency has allocated 21 billion pesos for the National Rice Program,

00:47while the Department of Trade and Industry, or DTI, is also working alongside the DA

00:52to monitor and prevent excessive rice price hikes.

00:55The Marcos administration is also focused on attracting investments to the country.

01:25This is a 3,000 pesos monthly food credit.

01:30We will study where these so-called hungry Filipinos come from.

01:47we will be able to address these kinds of situations.
