00:00
A very good weekend to all of us, I am Benison Estareja.
00:05
This Fashion Day, we still have three weather systems that bring rain to our country.
00:10
The first one is the north-east monsoon in the northern and central zone.
00:15
It also brings a drop in the temperature there.
00:18
This is the wind from the north.
00:20
We still have the shear line where the cold wind and hot wind comes from the east.
00:26
It also brings strong rain in the southern zone.
00:31
In Visayas, down to Mindanao, we still have the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ.
00:36
This is the line where the wind comes from the northern and southern hemispheres
00:41
even if the weather there is gloomy.
00:43
Based on our latest satellite animation,
00:46
there are many clouds here on the left and right side of our country.
00:50
But none of these will become a storm on the first days of December.
00:56
Today, we still have the rainy season here in the northern and central zone,
01:00
particularly in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, Administrative Region, and Aurora
01:04
because it is still in the north-east monsoon or Hanging Amihan.
01:08
Here in Ilocos Region, the rest of the central zone,
01:11
just like in Metro Manila,
01:13
we still have the sometimes gloomy weather, partly cloudy,
01:16
and often cloudy skies that are accompanied by drizzles with light rain
01:20
just like the north-east monsoon.
01:22
For our countrymen in the southern region,
01:25
expect strong rains here in Quezon Province, Laguna, Rizal, and a large part of Cabiculan.
01:32
It is possible up to 200 mm, especially here in Pating, Catanduanes,
01:36
Albay, and Sorsogon because of the shear line or hot and cold winds.
01:41
Here in the part of Mimaropa, it is partly cloudy,
01:44
up to cloudy skies just like the rest of Calabar Zone.
01:47
It will also be accompanied by drizzles with light rain,
01:51
up to cloudy skies just like the rest of Calabar Zone.
01:54
It is also noticeable that the temperature drops in a large part of Luzon.
01:58
For Metro Manila, it is from 23 to 31 degrees Celsius.
02:02
Here in Tagaytay, it is from 21 to 29 degrees.
02:05
For Baguio, it is only up to 22 degrees Celsius,
02:08
and a large part of Northern Luzon is no more than 30 degrees Celsius.
02:13
For our countrymen here in Palawan,
02:15
Visayas and Mindanao will still have cloudy skies.
02:20
It will also be accompanied by heavy rains and thunderstorms
02:24
due to the effect of the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ.
02:28
The eastern portion of Visayas and Caraga Region will be the most rainy.
02:32
It is possible up to 200 mm for Northern Samar and Eastern Samar,
02:36
and up to 100 mm for the rest of Eastern Visayas,
02:42
Surigao del Norte, and Binagat Islands.
02:44
Some parts of Visayas and Mindanao will have strong thunderstorms
02:49
from dusk to dusk.
02:51
So make sure to bring an umbrella or a raincoat
02:55
and be careful of floods and landslides.
02:58
Our temperature in Metro Cebu will be up to 31 degrees Celsius
03:02
during the afternoon,
03:04
while here in Mizambuanga City and Davao City,
03:06
it will be up to 32 degrees Celsius.
03:09
Due to the continuous downpour of the Northeast Monsoon
03:13
or Amihan, we still have gale warning or high waves
03:16
in the eastern part of Luzon, up to 4.5 meters
03:20
or one and a half feet below sea level.
03:23
In the islands of Isabela, Northern Aurora, and Polilio Islands,
03:28
these waves are very dangerous.
03:30
It is possible that our small seabed vessels will be affected.
03:32
It will also be dangerous in the neighboring towns of Luzon,
03:36
up to 2 to 3 meters.
03:38
It is still high and dangerous to small seabed vessels.
03:41
And by tomorrow, it is possible to remove the gale warning
03:44
in the neighboring towns of Luzon,
03:46
but it will still remain dangerous for most of Luzon
03:48
and Banayad, as is the case in Visayas and Mindanao.
03:52
For our three-day weather forecast,
03:54
on the first two days of December,
03:56
the Northeast Monsoon will still rain in Micagayan Valley,
04:00
Cordillera Region, and Aurora.
04:02
There will still be cold weather.
04:04
Here in the eastern part of Visayas,
04:07
there is still a possibility of a low-pressure area
04:10
here in Campul ng Ulap,
04:12
but eventually, it will also melt away
04:14
and there will not be a single typhoon.
04:16
Nonetheless, whether it will be a low-pressure area or not,
04:18
there will still be rains in a large part of Visayas,
04:21
Mindanao, and Southern Luzon,
04:23
along the shear line and the Intertropical Convergence Zone.
04:26
And Bicol Region and Mimaropa Region will still have heavy rains.
04:29
In fact, we have a weather advisory
04:31
for the next three days
04:33
in a large part of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao
04:36
up to 200 mm of rain
04:39
or possibly up to 10 streams by tomorrow
04:41
in Quezon Province,
04:43
as well as in Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes,
04:47
while up to 100 mm of rain
04:49
or moderate to heavy rains tomorrow
04:51
in the province of Aurora,
04:53
as well as in Maylaguna, Batangas,
04:55
down in Orinoco,
04:56
Marinduque, Romblon,
04:58
up to Masbate, Albay, and Sosugon
05:00
if we have heavy to intense rains.
05:02
There is a high chance that there will be floods
05:04
or landslides in low-lying areas
05:06
and those near rivers
05:08
while there are a few places
05:10
where there will be floods and landslides
05:12
if the rain is moderate to heavy.
05:14
Then, when December 2 arrives,
05:16
you will expect only a few places
05:18
here in Silangang-Patina, Luzon
05:20
because of the shear line
05:22
and the Intertropical Convergence Zone.
05:23
Then, in the evening,
05:25
here in Silangang-Patina, Luzon,
05:27
because of the shear line,
05:29
there will still be moderate to heavy rains.
05:31
Isabela, down in Aurora,
05:33
Quezon Province,
05:35
and here in Camarines Norte,
05:37
there is still a chance of floods
05:39
and landslides.
05:41
And for Tuesday,
05:43
on December 3,
05:45
there will still be rain
05:47
in Batanes and Baboyan Islands
05:49
and in cold weather,
05:51
it will still be drizzling.
05:53
Then, for Tuesday,
05:55
on December 3,
05:57
there will still be thunderstorms.
05:59
The shear line is rising
06:01
because of the weakening
06:03
of the Northeast Monsoon.
06:05
But eventually,
06:07
in the next few days of December,
06:09
there will be a surge
06:11
of the Northeast Monsoon.
06:13
But for Tuesday,
06:15
on December 3,
06:17
there will still be thunderstorms
06:19
in the eastern part of Luzon
06:21
and there is still a chance
06:23
of landslides.
06:25
I am Benison Estareja.
06:27
Take care.
