00:03And there is a lot.

00:04We usually, like this is the week, Coach,

00:06where I think people who maybe they know

00:09college basketball has started,

00:11but they haven't really gotten to check in yet

00:14because there's so many other things going on.

00:17This is usually the week where they at least dip their toe

00:20in the water and see what's going on

00:23because some of these holiday tournaments,

00:26they got some heavy hitters.

00:27I mean, this Maui, I know they're back

00:29on the Big Island this year,

00:30and it is a great field that's underway

00:33with UConn this afternoon.

00:35So we love the Maui, Coach.

00:36You got a bunch of others.

00:37I know Kansas and Duke are playing in Vegas tomorrow night.

00:40There's just a bunch of really great games this week.

00:44Yeah, they really are curving high.

00:45And if you really look at it,

00:47we'll talk about it a little bit.

00:47There's a great game tonight.

00:49I mean, Auburn and Iowa State.

00:51I mean, this is like, I think number three and number four,

00:53number four and number five in the country,

00:55especially after Auburn getting that big win

00:57over Houston last week after the Flygate,

01:00I guess, whatever you want to call it.

01:01But yeah, I think when you get the fee sweep, right?

01:04When you get the battle for Atlantis,

01:05when you get the Maui Invitational,

01:07you know, you get the big match,

01:08like I said, in Las Vegas tomorrow night.

01:10This is when people start to pay attention

01:13as the college football regular season ends

01:16and college basketball kind of gets into that third week.

01:19That's when we start to kind of pick up steam

01:21when it comes to college basketball.

01:23You certainly do.

01:24And by the way, UConn's down to Memphis

01:27in that Maui Invitational opener right now.

01:32So we have a few games

01:34that we'll run through here, Coach, quickly.

01:36We have Fort Myers,

01:37where they've been playing games down there

01:38for the last few days.

01:39Beach Division tonight.

01:41Michigan and Va Tech.

01:43That's a six o'clock East tip.

01:45What are we like in this game?

01:47I'm going to go with Michigan.

01:48I mean, Va Tech is 0-4, gets spread the last four games.

01:51You know, Dusty May brought in some guys,

01:54the Treachery and the Michigan.

01:55I just think they're a little bit more battle-tested.

01:57Virginia Tech's only had one game,

01:59I think, versus a Power 5, Power 14.

02:02Didn't go well.

02:03Give me Michigan minus 10 and a half.

02:04I think they get a big win.

02:07The other game down there in Fort Myers,

02:09I believe, Coach, is the Xavier game.

02:12There's so many games today

02:13that it's tough to get through all of them.

02:15Xavier, South Carolina.

02:16That is the second game

02:17of that Fort Myers tip-off doubleheader after Michigan.

02:20Xavier minus five and a half tonight,

02:23as that's moved from earlier today.

02:26Yeah, six and a half.

02:27It's kind of moved down a little bit, down a point.

02:29You know, if you look at this team with Xavier,

02:32you know, they've been a little bit more battle-tested.

02:33I know they had a good win over Wake Forest

02:35by 15-a-team to beat Michigan.

02:37But if you look at South Carolina,

02:39beating Marshall by 12 is nothing to write home about.

02:42I'm not going to talk about what they did to Talzah,

02:44but the one time they played a team that was pretty decent,

02:46Indiana, lost by 16.

02:48I like what that is.

02:50I'm not that mad.

02:51What am I saying?

02:52What Sean Miller's doing over there to Xavier.

02:53Give me Xavier minus a point.

02:57I love the Maui.

02:59And you have one of the games featured here,

03:00which is of course, this heavy hitter game.

03:02Number four, Auburn and number five, Iowa State.

03:05Auburn at this very second, minus four and a half

03:08with the 144 and a half total.

03:10That's the third game of four in Maui today.

03:13So this is where people are going to think I'm crazy, right?

03:15So Auburn averages about 87.3 points per game.

03:19And then Iowa State averages about 84 points a game.

03:22So where am I going?

03:23I'm taking the under.

03:25Carver, I simply put,

03:26these are two of the top 20 defenses in the country.

03:29Bruce Pearl, great coach, obviously.

03:31Austin Berger, great coach defensively.

03:33They hang their hats on the defenseman.

03:36And I think you're going to get

03:37a really tightly contested game.

03:40Give me under 140 and a half in the contest tonight.

03:45Now, quickly, coach, what do you like in those other two?

03:47Because I know Michigan State's playing Colorado

03:50and UNC's playing Dayton.

03:51Those are the other ones.

03:52And by the way, I told you, UConn's getting a push here.

03:55This is actually like the first real team

03:56UConn's played this year.

03:58You know, they're not playing New Hampshire,

03:59Sacred Heart, and LeMoyne today.

04:02These games are going to play in Maui.

04:03You're really going to find out

04:05about the two time defending champs.

04:07No, and they're getting it right now.

04:09If you look at the fact that the two of your better shooters

04:12and Liam McNeely and Alex Carver

04:14are combined three for 12 from the floor.

04:16And, you know, so that's something you have to be worried

04:18about if you're Dan Hurley is they haven't got pushed yet.

04:21But when you talk about the other two games in Maui,

04:24I'm going to go with Michigan State.

04:25I'm going to go with Michigan State minus a point.

04:27And I'm going to go with North Carolina minus a point.

04:29North Carolina, if I'm not mistaken,

04:30what has been out there, they played at Hawaii.

04:33So they've been out there a couple of days already.

04:35So I think that was smart by Hubert Davis

04:37getting them out there.

04:38Because I know even going from the East Coast

04:41to the West Coast, three hours is something.

04:43Going another three hours, that's a lot.

04:51they won by 19 at Hawaii against them.

04:54So they played Hawaii Friday night,

05:37Listen, these other three of the last four games,

05:39you're playing a poor defensive team in New Orleans

05:41that shoots a lot of threes,

05:42and you're going to want to run.

05:43Give me over 12 and a half for Tyrese Halliburton.

05:45And lastly, DeMar DeRozan,

05:47over three and a half rebounds,

05:48over, in his last three games,

05:51and you look at the matchup tonight,

05:53playing, you know, the Thunder,

05:54they may bomb away from three a little bit,

05:56especially if he has a guard

05:57somewhere like Lou Dorton, not a great shooter.

05:59Give me DeMar DeRozan.

05:59He hangs around.

06:00Over three and a half rebounds tonight.

06:03It looks like, coach,

06:04you're going to get Porzingis tonight,

06:06Durant and Beal tomorrow.

06:11You're getting a lot of stars back here this week.

06:13And I know Wemby came back for the Spurs last night too,

06:16and he missed a couple games.

06:18Yeah, I think that the job thinks would be interesting

06:20because they had been, you know,

06:21three and two in the last five,

06:23but he kind of drives that engine.

06:24That team, I really thought would play well.

06:27Porzingis obviously now gets the Celtics' hole,

06:29and I think that makes him even more dangerous.

06:32But you got to look at Beal and Durant.

06:35If they can stay healthy, Carver High,

06:37look what they did before these guys got hurt.

06:39If they can stay healthy, they can make a run.

06:43Carver High, the problem is they never stay healthy.
