00:23Close to Ayungin is a military base that China created from what used to be Mischief Reef.

00:28The Philippines ran the BRP Sierra Madre aground as a response to Beijing's development of

00:34Ayungin, or Second Thomas Shoal, has been at the center of the friction between the

00:38Philippines and China.

00:40The China Coast Guard resorted to dangerous maneuvers in the use of water cannons to drive

00:44away Philippine vessels.
