00:08The 31-year-old eldest son of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. was elected to the post during the 20th Congress on Monday, July 28.
00:15Marcos, as Majority Leader, will serve as Rules Committee Chairman.
00:19He is responsible for setting the legislative agenda of the House and mediating between lawmakers with conflicting interests.
00:25This is only the second congressional term of Sandro Marcos.
00:28In the 19th Congress, he served as Senior Deputy Majority Leader, which is usually reserved for older, more veteran lawmakers.
00:35Meantime, four-piece representative Marcelino Nonoy Libanan was re-elected as House Minority Leader.
00:40Mama Mayang Liberal Representative Laila Dilima nominates Libanan as Minority Leader.
00:45He got the support of 29 other minority members.
00:48In the past Congress, Libanan was in charge of delivering the Contra Sona, a speech usually delivered by the Minority Leader to respond to the supposed accomplishments mentioned by the President in his address.
00:58He was also notable for leading the prosecution panel in Vice President Sara Duterte's impeachment trial.
