00:00And at this point, we will discuss an update on the programs of the current administration here in Mr. President on the go.
00:25First of all, fellow countrymen, President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. has approved the program of the Department of Science and Technology or DOST
00:35which will strengthen the sector of our agriculture through the purchase of homegrown machineries in a sectoral meeting in Malacanang.
00:47The President has shown confidence in this program because aside from being locally produced, it is cheaper compared to imported machineries
00:58and the farmers who will save a lot or those who are in charge of agriculture.
01:03The President is pleased to see that he is using other farmers to distribute machinery of the government such as toad machines that are used to plough the land.
01:16According to DOST Secretary Renato Solidum, this shift of the government from importing machinery towards the ploughing of locally produced machines
01:27is not only applicable to the agri-sector of the country but also to the manufacturing industry of the Philippines.
01:33The use of these machines is crucial to improve the efficiency of agriculture.
01:39The Department of Agriculture is also familiar with the use of machinery for farmers and cooperatives, particularly through the RISE Competitiveness Enhancement Fund.
01:49The DOST program is also supported by Secretary Francisco T. Laurel, Jr.
01:54However, the DOST has given the need to prioritize which machinery will be used first and to ensure that the machines meet the quality standards.
02:05And that is our update this morning.
02:08Stay tuned for our next discussion on the activities and programs of the current administration.
