00:00The Agriculture Department is working hard to revive the sector of agriculture

00:07that was hit by the El Niño, the next wave, and the African Swine Fever.

00:13In this quarter of 2024, the production in the sector of agriculture and fishing decreased by 397 billion pesos.

00:23It decreased by 3.7% compared to 412 billion pesos last year at the same time.

00:32But the DA has decided to recover the sector of agriculture again.

00:38The DA has distributed more than 541 million pesos worth of free rice and vegetables,

00:45medicine for animals, and other farm inputs.

00:51The indemnification of 24 million pesos for fishermen who were hit by the storm in Bicol was also achieved.

01:02The agency also raised 500 million pesos in loans and 1 billion pesos in Quick Response Funds.

01:11The programs related to the effects of climate change, such as the change in the cropping calendar,

01:20the construction of water impounding dams that are collected in the rain and during the heat.

01:28The DA is also working closely with the Food and Drug Administration

01:34to quickly prove the commercial use of vaccines against African Swine Fever.

01:43Despite the decline of fishery output, our farmers and farmers will recover.

01:52First of all, we will strengthen our production despite these losses.

01:57Second, we will balance the availability of our importation, which is happening now.
