Aired (October 26, 2024): Good news dahil itinaas ng PhilHealth sa isang milyong piso kada taon ang dialysis package para sa mga miyembro nito! Samantala, ilang kaso ng Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD), naitala sa Davao City.

00:04Here are the health updates that you should know about.

00:08The Dialysis Package Benefit for members

00:11is increased by PhilHealth by 1 million pesos per year.

00:15According to the World Health Organization,

00:17out of 10 cases of deaths in the Western Pacific Region,

00:21including the Philippines,

00:23are due to non-communicable diseases

00:25such as stroke, heart disease, and diabetes.

00:30And cases of hand, foot, and mouth disease

00:33are due to stroke.

00:36Good news for PhilHealth members.

00:39Last week, the Dialysis Package was added

00:43for PhilHealth members.

00:45According to PhilHealth Circular 2024-003,

00:49from the previous 4,000 pesos,

00:51the benefit was increased to 6,350 pesos

00:55for members and qualified dependents

00:57with Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 5.

01:00Circular also decided to provide

01:03anti-coagulation medications,

01:06anemia medicine, laboratory tests,

01:09dialyzers, hemodialysis solutions,

01:12and dialysis kits to KD-5 patients per session.

01:16This includes the use of dialysis machines

01:19and other facilities.

01:21It also limited the professional fees to 450 pesos

01:26for specialists.

01:28According to the World Health Organization or WHO,

01:31out of the 10 cases of deaths in the Western Pacific Region,

01:35including the Philippines,

01:37are due to non-communicable diseases

01:39such as heart disease, stroke, and diabetes.

01:43According to the WHO,

01:45major risk factors include drinking alcohol

01:49and smoking,

01:51lifestyle and eating processed and ultra-processed food

01:55WHO is also alarmed by the increase

01:57in the use of e-cigarettes

01:59and suicide rates in the region.

02:02WHO urged the government

02:04and other agencies in the Western Pacific Region

02:07to ensure that when it comes to health,

02:10no one is left behind.

02:14The cases of hand, foot, and mouth disease

02:16have been recorded in Davao City.

02:18On October 3 to 16,

02:20Davao City recorded 30 cases

02:22from a private school

02:25Hand, foot, and mouth disease

02:27is a contagious disease

02:29that causes fever,

02:31mouth sore, and skin rash.

02:33Children under the age of 5

02:35often experience it.

02:37At present, cases are being monitored

02:39and disinfection is ongoing

02:41in parks and playgrounds.

02:43The public is being warned

02:45to wash their hands,

02:47disinfect, and avoid

02:49any contact with those who have it.
