00:00Hello and welcome to the latest weather forecast from the Met Office.

00:03This morning's rain will soon clear the east this afternoon and then most places will enjoy plenty

00:08of sunshine as we go through Saturday afternoon but there will be a few showers particularly in

00:12the west. It's this area of low pressure though that we're watching very closely through Saturday

00:16night as it engages with the jet stream it will deepen and bring an arc of heavy rain and strong

00:21winds northeastwards across the UK bring an unsettled day on Sunday and it stays changeable

00:26into Monday with showers or longer spells of rain and some sunshine in between. Back to Saturday

00:32afternoon though and we've still got some rain to clear away from more eastern parts of England

00:36and it will continue across northeast Scotland well into the afternoon but elsewhere plenty of

00:41sunshine to come a few showers across the west perhaps one or two heavier ones with the odd

00:46rumble of thunder but for most places a pleasant afternoon with lighter winds temperatures reaching

00:52highs of 14 or 15 in the south. Through Saturday afternoon and evening many of the showers will

00:58fade away to give some clear skies overnight tonight and temperatures will fall away into

01:03single figures across more eastern and northern areas for a time but recovering temperatures later

01:07in the night as this arc of very heavy rain pushes in from the west rainfall warnings come into a

01:12force overnight and some very strong to gale force winds develop across all western parts of the UK

01:18later in the night. So through Sunday morning that band of rain continues to push its way

01:23northeastwards across the UK followed by sunshine and frequent showers across the west but the rain

01:28will continue through into the afternoon for northeast Scotland so another rainfall warning

01:32comes into effect here and for many places feeling a bit cooler temperatures 13 or 14 but feeling

01:38that much colder in the wind. Into Monday it stays changeable with some showers for many places

01:45but there will be some sunny spells in between it will be feeling colder as well with a chance
