00:00Help me fix up this old house so I can finally move out of my parents' basement.

00:05Whoa, got too excited.

00:06Anyway, we're fixing up the trim today.

00:07Go get your paint clothes on.

00:08Thankfully, I've done most of the prep work.

00:10Like taping up the floor, cleaning the baseboards, sanding, filling, more sanding,

00:14possibly definitely giving myself lead poisoning.

00:16All we have left to do is our second round of primer and then it's on to the paint.

00:18This is where you come in.

00:19Your job is to watch and periodically tell me that I'm doing an amazing job.

00:22Because I spent the last week prepping the trim of this house,

00:24so I need someone to lay their eyeballs on it and say,

00:26Wow!

00:26When they see it.

00:27Let me just finish getting up all the dust.

00:30And now it's prime time.

00:33Look, look, look, look, look, look.

00:34If anyone at this point is thinking,

00:36Why is she painting all the trim?

00:37Trim looks pretty great to me.

00:38I'd like to say thank you.

00:39I made it look like this.

00:40This house was built in 1948 and as you can imagine,

00:42some grubby hands got ahold of a paintbrush in its lifetime.

00:45So am I over prepping?

00:46Absolutely.

00:47It was necessary.

00:47If we're not doing the most, then what are we doing?

00:49I've essentially sculpted this trim with my bare hands.

00:52Fixing the damage and the blindness of the men that came before me.

00:54Yes, I do feel like a warrior.

00:56Let me tell you, the work was laborious.

00:58I think I even tore my rotator cuff.

00:59Someone Google torn rotator cuff and tell me if that's what I have.

01:02My symptoms are pain in shoulder.

01:04It hurts.

01:04By the way, will I be upset if you don't think

01:06that this trim looks brand spanking new at the end of this video?

01:08Absolutely.

01:09If you don't say those exact words, I will cry.

01:11I put my heart and soul into this.

01:12Absolutely push myself to the limit.

01:23If I'm going to look at this trim every day, I want it to be beautiful.

01:26And I also want the next person who wants to buy it to walk in and say,

01:28wow, that trim is beautiful.

01:30I want to buy this house.

01:31Here's lots of money.

01:32I am a firm believer that trim sells houses.

01:34The other day I went to an open house just to be nosy.

01:36What can I say?

01:36I like to stay up to date on the houses I can't afford in my area.

01:39Sue me, I dream big.

01:40Anyway, this house was listed for $469,000.

01:43That's almost half a milli people.

01:44And the trim looked like this.

01:52The listing also mentioned a new marbled fireplace.

01:54I honestly thought I was being punked.

01:56But Ashton Kutcher never showed up.

01:57Rather disappointing, if I do say so myself.

01:59But if a house with that kind of trim can sell for half a milli,

02:02the trim is going to make this one worth a bajillion dollars.

02:05And I'm going to make sure of it.

02:06I'm going to try really, really hard.

02:07And finally, it's time to reveal the paint color for the trim.

02:10And the color is white.

02:12Well, this is a very anticlimactic paint reveal.

02:14I honestly thought this was going to be more exciting.

02:16Like some sort of dramatic change.

02:17So I had to remind myself of what the house looked like originally.

02:23And now it looks like this.

02:24Wow.

02:25A whole lot brighter and a lot less yellow.

02:27And the best part, when you look up close,

02:28you don't feel like you got scammed out of your life savings.

02:30And to me, that view is just priceless.
