A 22-year-old college student was killed and his younger sister severely injured in an accident involving a car and a lorry at KM76, Jalan Johor Baru - Air Hitam, in Kluang, Johor on Sunday (Aug 18).

00:00A 22-year-old college student was killed and his younger sister injured in an accident
00:07involving a car and a lorry at kilometre 76 Jalan Johor Bahru, Ayer Hitam on Sunday.
00:14Keluang OCPD Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohamad Noh reported that the police were
00:19alerted to the accident around 4.30pm, involving a trailer lorry and a Nissan Almera.
00:26Initial investigations revealed that the car, driven by the 21-year-old woman, was
00:31travelling from Simpang Renggam towards Machap when she lost control of her vehicle.
00:37The car veered into the opposite lane and collided with the oncoming lorry, which was
00:42travelling from Machap towards Simpang Renggam.
00:46The collision resulted in the death of the 22-year-old passenger from severe injuries
00:50to his face and body.
00:53His sister sustained serious facial injuries and a broken left leg, and is currently receiving
00:58treatment at Enche Besar Haja Khalsam Hospital in Keluang.
01:03ACP Bahrin added that the lorry driver was unharmed and tested negative for drugs at
01:09the Keluang District Police Headquarters Narcotics Division.
01:12The case is being investigated under Section 41, Subsection 1 of the Road Transport Act,
01:181987.
