Two people were killed in a collision between a car and a motorcycle at KM31.5 of the Kluang-Batu Pahat road in Batu Pahat.

In a separate incident in Kluang, a 53-year-old clerk died after crashing his car into a tree at KM57.5 of the Batu Pahat-Mersing road.

00:10Batu Pahat OCPD Assistant Commissioner Shahrulanuar Mushaddad Abdullah Sani said the accident
00:17occurred around 11.55 pm on Saturday at a junction.
00:22Initial investigations found that a 23-year-old motorcyclist from Parit Raja was heading towards
00:29Iyer Hitam when he collided with a car driven by a 65-year-old man, making a turn.
00:36Both sustained severe head injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
00:40In a separate incident, a 53-year-old clerk died after crashing into a tree at kilometre
00:4657.5 of the Batu Pahat Mersing Road.
00:50Kluang OCPD Assistant Commissioner Barin Mohamed Noh said the crash happened around 11.00 pm
00:56on Saturday as the man was travelling from Kluang to Mersing.
01:00Preliminary findings suggest the driver lost control, causing the car to skid off the road
01:05and hit a tree.
01:06He suffered fatal head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
01:10Both cases are being investigated under Section 41, Subsection 1 of the Road Transport Act,
01:161987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
