Hi, I'm Lizzie and I grew up on this dairy farm. It's Cutthroat Creamery and I grew up milking the cows.
00:10
And I'm Matthew, Lizzie's partner and I get roped into a sort of with the dairy and building farm shops.
00:16
Exactly.
00:17
We just thought we'd open a farm shop to try and create a healthy community and diversify the farm.
00:24
We sell local cheese from Chesterfield Cheese Pastures.
00:27
We sell our own milk that was pasteurised on the farm and from the cows that we raise.
00:33
I'm just looking around.
00:35
We sell bake oil, bakery bread, the coffees from Roastology in Sheffield.
00:39
And then we've got peak preserves and jams and stuff from the farm at Pillsbury.
00:44
And then on the actual menu we're starting to have Moss Valley Fine Meats.
00:50
We're having their bacon and sausage and stuff.
00:54
And we use Roastology's coffee in all the coffees as well and our own milk.
00:59
And ice cream.
01:00
And yes, soon we'll have ice cream.
01:02
And hopefully in the summer months as well we're hoping to do our own burgers and we're going to do some ready meals.
01:08
So you can come and buy a lasagne or a cottage pie or a joint for a Sunday dinner and then all your veg as well with that.
01:16
Really we're trying to use this as an extension to the new dairy.
01:19
So we're just moving into a new dairy at the moment where we'll be able to do ice cream and a lot more milk.
01:23
So it reduces the food miles, tries to keep it low where we can and support the local businesses as well.
01:29
It's like a hub for the communities.
01:31
We were really shocked, I mean we couldn't believe it the first day could we?
01:35
Weekend's definitely a lot busier than the week and we do need to sort some parking.
01:39
But other than that, it's great just to see people from the village come in, sort of time after time again, meet their friends, catch up.
01:46
Sort of sit and read a book and look at the cows.
01:48
Yeah, we're open 8.30am till 5pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
01:53
Just doing three days at the moment and as we're moving towards summer we might look to extend it a little bit and maybe do...
01:57
Yeah, do some holidays.
01:59
Yeah, and we did say we're the possibility of maybe doing sort of an evening a week of something trialling like quiz nights, pie and pea nights.
02:06
Something to get the community together, get people out and don't go out very often.
02:09
Get together.
