Campaigner Roger Jackson calls for Derbyshire County Council to keep its Derbyshire Eco Centre open
Transcript
00:00yeah well we have had a useful protest here today we've made our point that the
00:11Eco Center shouldn't be closed but should carry on in some shape or form
00:16for the people that it's currently serving so we've made that point we're
00:21happy we've made that point whether we've really been listened to is another
00:25question that has been listening by some of the councillors and we appreciate
00:29that but whether they'll be able to do anything to turn the whole thing around
00:34in time before it actually closes is another question so really it's still up
00:41in the air as far as we're concerned you mentioned to Councillor Reid the need for
00:46a pause yeah how important is that at this stage that's really important because
00:52at the moment there's absolutely no indication about where any of the
00:57provision would be delivered as an alternative this there seems to be no
01:02thinking about it whatsoever so a load of people who do classes take part in
01:08groups vulnerable people included and people who've got particular needs they're
01:14going to be really disappointed because they don't they have no idea where they're
01:18going to go so at the moment it needs to be pausing and consolidating provision
01:25there until an alternative has been developed
