Yorkshire Tea's Cherry Bakewell Brew: A Bakewell Tart in a Cuppa?

00:00I'm Penny and I'm from Yorkshire Tea. I'm the Yorkshire Tea brand manager and

00:05we're here in Bakewell today to launch our new proper breaks brew which is

00:10Cherry Bakewell Brew. It's part of our proper breaks range which has also got

00:15our malty biscuit and our caramelised biscuit brew and what better place to

00:20launch our new brew than to come to the place itself and the home of the Bakewell

00:25tart. So yeah really excited to be here today. So I am Gemma Beegre, one of the

00:31owners of the original Bakewell pudding shop and today we have been taken over

00:35by Yorkshire Tea with a Bakewell brew. How's it gone? Amazing, it's been really

00:41well received. It tastes incredible. Everybody loves it and yeah we're hoping

00:47we're going to be able to be selling this very soon in our shop. So we're in

00:51Bakewell this morning to sample the Cherry Bakewell Brew made by Yorkshire Tea

00:56which has just launched. It's a lovely day in Bakewell, the sun keeps peeking

01:02through the clouds and I've been really looking forward to coming to sample this

01:06tea because tea is one of my favourite drinks alongside champagne. So here goes.

01:12To say, on the nose it smells of cherry with a slight smell of, scent I should say, of almond

01:24coming through. But obviously the test is in the tasting.

01:31That is absolutely beautiful. That could be my new morning, afternoon and tea drink. There's

01:45a spot of milk in there, it's absolutely gorgeous, it's lovely creamy, it's like

01:50eating Bakewell tart itself. I'm now going to try it without milk.

02:01It's nice but it doesn't have the same effect as the tea with milk. This is a tea

02:13that I'm going to try cold and I'm also going to try pouring it over ice cream

02:19because I think that might work on a nice hot summer's day as well. So cheers, enjoy
