00:00Could you imagine having these views for your 9-5 work?

00:05That's the reality for Royal Flying Doctor Service staff who get to go out to clinics out in the bush.

00:12I shadowed the Port Augusta RFDS team for a day where we packed the plane and headed to Blinman.

00:19They set up in this Airbnb cottage with all of their medical supplies

00:23to be able to service anyone who had booked an appointment or any spontaneous walk-ins.

00:29Hi, I'm Tessa. I'm a registered nurse under the Primary Healthcare Team for the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

00:34I've worked here for two years and my why for working with the RFDS

00:39is because I've always had a family connection with the RFDS.

00:42My family manage a station up north and have for the past 18 years.

00:46And as a small girl on holidays, I would help my auntie set up her little tin shed clinic down the road

00:51to facilitate clinics for the surrounding stations, help vacuum the floors,

00:55deliver biscuits and cakes so that everyone was fed when they arrived.

00:59Always loved the RFDS, always wanted to work for them.

01:02They've always been for me the red belly in the sky and the help just around the corner.

01:05You can always rely on them.

01:07And now I get to do that for other people and other families

01:09and deliver the finest care to all the furthest corners.

01:11Hi, I'm Dr Sally Cole with the Royal Flying Doctor's SANT sector.

01:18I'm a Rural Generalist, which is a Rural General Practitioner.

01:24I've been working with RFDS, I guess, since 2000,

01:29initially in the capacity of a remote and rural women's health program.

01:33Lately, in the last four and a bit years, I've been working as an employee for RFDS.

01:39So working out of Port Augusta, I work one week a month and love the job,

01:46love the people, love the outback people, love my team in Port Augusta.

01:52I enjoy the teamwork with our pilots, nurses, comms,

01:57and it's a privilege and honour to be looking after the outback people of South Australia.
