Young auctioneers hone their skills at the Australian Livestock & Property Agents SA Auctioneer School.
Transcript
00:00So I've been doing a little bit of auctioneering up at Strathalbun, just clearing sales and local cattle sales.
00:04But I've come here today to try and better my skills and try and get the best out of myself.
00:08In my opinion, what makes a good auctioneer is very clear and concise bidding
00:12and just making everyone on the same page in terms of who's got the bid and what the price is at.
00:183, 10, 12, 12, 14, 16, 18, 18 it is, 20, 3, 22, 3, 22 on it, red it is, all done, 3, 22, all done.
00:27If these OERs are going to survive, which they need to to set pricing across the country,
00:33we need the auctioneers to be able to sell.
00:35So it's vitally important that the next gen coming through do learn the art and the skill of auctioneering.
00:42I came to the school today just for an opportunity to probably do something that I haven't done before,
00:47which is start my auctioneering career and build up some foundation to achieve that.
00:50Obviously I love the industry and the more we can help encourage these young people,
00:56of which there's 13 or 14 of them here today, the better off we'll all be.
01:01So it's a very good day.
