Retired Canberra Grammar art teacher auctions off collection

Trevor Dunbar's extensive collection of art and objects is being auctioned online as he heads to the South Coast to build his dream home

00:39 It's really typical of what she does.

00:42 She's painted here using black and white.

00:44 But already we've had quite a bit of interest in this work.

00:47 And I'm sure that it will be one of the highlights

00:51 of the collection.

00:52 So this is another work from Trevor's collection.

00:55 This is actually one of his own artworks.

00:57 And he's included native animals,

01:00 lots of sort of Australian iconography, even emu eggs,

01:04 and just goes to show the depth of the kind of art

01:08 that he produced.

01:10 It can only be described as eclectic.

01:14 The highlights of the collection as well,

01:16 which we've already had a lot of inquiries about,

01:18 Trevor purchased this in Venice.

01:21 And it's an Italian antique portrait

01:23 of a retriever in a beautiful gilt hand-painted frame.

01:28 This is just one of the examples of all the sorts of things

01:32 which he collected on his travels,

01:34 everything from Murano glass to Thai Buddhas,

01:39 Florentine cherubs.

01:41 There's all sorts of porcelain from around the world.
