00:00 Hello there. This coming weekend is going to be feeling quite chilly for many of us
00:04 and it will be quite unsettled, particularly through Saturday. Sunday is
00:08 looking like the drier day of the two but we have got this cold Arctic air
00:12 with us from Friday and that will last all the way through the weekend. We've
00:16 also got low pressure in charge, particularly through Saturday morning
00:19 and that will slowly start to fill through the course of the day on
00:22 Saturday. So a bit of a slow improvement, it will turn a bit dry as the day goes
00:26 on and then into Sunday that low pressure completely fills and that will
00:30 allow a ridge of higher pressure to develop on Sunday but we've still got
00:34 these blue colours, that cold air throughout much of the weekend. So it's
00:38 certainly going to be feeling chilly wherever you are but those occluded
00:41 fronts around that low pressure will bring some spells of more persistent
00:45 rain, particularly across northeastern areas of England through Saturday and
00:49 that rain will turn to snow over the high ground, above mainly about 250
00:53 metres but you could see some sleety snow to about a hundred metres. Not much
00:58 will settle on anything other than grassy surfaces however. Away from this
01:02 more persistent areas of rain and sleet and snow we'll see a mix of sunshine and
01:06 showers. The best of the sunshine is likely to be through the morning and
01:09 there will be quite a cold wind, particularly across coastal areas in the
01:13 north and west. So it will be feeling a little bit chillier than of late and
01:18 sunshine, at least by the afternoon is going to be fairly limited. However as I
01:21 said there will be a slow improvement through the night and for many areas
01:25 Saturday evening will be fairly dry. However across the far north and some
01:29 western coastal areas showers are likely to continue. But inland with clear skies
01:34 developing it's going to be another cold night, quite a sharp frost developing by
01:38 Sunday morning, also some more mist and fog around. So it could be quite a murky
01:42 start to Sunday and quite a chilly start to the day as well but it will be quite
01:47 a lot drier than Saturday morning. And Sunday on the whole will be a much drier
01:53 day than Saturday for many areas but we've still got that chilly feel. So the
01:57 frost will be quite slow to clear as well as that mist and fog but there's a
02:00 good chance of seeing some sunny spells and it won't feel too bad in any of
02:04 those sunny spells because we will have lighter winds on Sunday. Notice in the
02:09 southeast as the day progresses on Sunday there is a chance of seeing some
02:13 more persistent rain. There's a bit of uncertainty with quite how far west that
02:17 will push and I don't think we're expecting anything too heavy but it's
02:20 worth keeping an eye on the day-to-day forecast for more details on that if you
02:24 are in the southeast this weekend. But elsewhere there should be a mix of sunny
02:28 spells and as I said it will be feeling fairly pleasant in the sunshine. These
02:31 temperatures are about average for the time of year. It should stay dry through
02:36 Sunday night as well but there is further rain on the way for the start of
02:39 next week. Whatever you're up to I hope you have a lovely weekend. Bye bye.
