A man was shot on a residential street in Bartley Green in broad daylight on Saturday. The incident took place just before 1pm. West Midlands Police said a man received a gunshot wound to the lower half of his body but his injuries are not life threatening.

Police have seized more than £150,000 in cash which was found inside a cardboard box. Officers intercepted a black Volvo S90 in Hockley, and later also recovered a loaded handgun in the loft of a local property. A 17-year-old boy has been charged and is awaiting trial.
