00:00 Businessman Moksani Mahathir is being investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.

00:07 Moksani, the second son of former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad,

00:12 was served an asset declaration notice at the MACC headquarters in Pujaya at 11am today.

00:18 When contacted by FMT, MACC Chief Azam Bakki confirmed the matter

00:24 and said several more people will receive similar notices from the Anti-Corruption Agency.

00:30 Moksani is reportedly being investigated under the MACC Act and Anti-Money Laundering,

00:35 Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act or AMLA.

00:39 Last week, the anti-graft agency served Moksani's older brother,

00:44 Mirzan, a notice of asset declaration under Section 36(1)(b) of the MACC Act 2009.

00:51 MACC said this was part of an investigation into financial documents and assets owned

00:57 by Malaysians listed in the Pandora Papers and Panama Papers reports.

01:01 The agency said it is also probing Mirzan's business activities

01:07 involving the sale and purchase of government-linked companies.
