Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) introduced a motion to censure Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) for the latter's comments on Israel and Palestine, and her role in pro-Palestinian protests.

00:13 The form of the resolution is as follows.

00:16 The gentlewoman is recognized.

00:19 Censuring Representative Rashida Tlaib for anti-Semitic activity and sympathizing with

00:25 terrorist organizations, whereas in May 2019, Rashida Tlaib said that she celebrated the

00:32 Holocaust and felt a calming feeling when thinking about the genocide of millions of

00:38 Jews.

00:39 Whereas in 2020, Rashida Tlaib retweeted an illustration with the caption, "From the

00:45 river to the sea, Palestine will be free."

00:49 And this Palestine Liberation Organization slogan has been adopted by Hamas and calls

00:55 for the elimination of Israel and the death of all Jews.

01:00 Whereas on November 3rd, 2023, Rashida Tlaib tweeted that the slogan, "From the river to

01:08 the sea," which calls for the genocide of all Jews, is an aspirational call for freedom,

01:16 human rights, and peaceful coexistence.

01:20 Whereas in September 2022, Rashida Tlaib, as a member of the Congressional Progressive

01:25 Caucus, displayed her disdain for Israel, saying, "You cannot claim to hold progressive

01:31 values yet back Israel's apartheid government."

01:36 Whereas instead of denouncing the horrors of Hamas slaughtering Israelis, Rashida Tlaib

01:42 stated on October 3rd, 2023, "The path to the future must include lifting the blockade,

01:50 ending the occupation, and dismantling the apartheid system that creates the suffocating

01:55 dehumanizing conditions that can lead to resistance."

02:00 Whereas Rashida Tlaib exhibited her hatred for America by reposting a message on October

02:06 12th, 2023, blaming America for allowing the deaths of Palestinian babies at the hands

02:13 of Israel.

02:15 Whereas Rashida Tlaib incited an illegal occupation at the United States Capitol Complex on October

02:22 18th, 2023, which put members of Congress, their staffs, and Capitol visitors in danger

02:28 by shutting down elevators, stairwells, and points of aggress, while obstructing official

02:33 business in both the House of Representatives and the Senate, including a Senate Foreign

02:38 Affairs Committee hearing.

02:40 Whereas the illegal occupation incited by Rashida Tlaib was organized by Jewish Voice

02:46 for Peace, which is the Anti-Defamation League calls a radical anti-Israel activist group

02:53 that advocates for a complete economic, cultural, and academic boycott of the state of Israel,

03:00 and that believes Israeli policies and actions are motivated by deeply rooted Jewish racial

03:06 chauvinism and religious supremacism.

03:12 Whereas several illegal occupiers at the Capitol belong to a group messaging chat called Global

03:19 Intifada, which is the Arabic word for rebellion or uprising, and refers to a series of protests

03:26 and violent riots carried out by Palestinians in Israel during the last century.

03:33 Whereas by inciting an illegal occupation of the Capitol Complex on October 18th, 2023,

03:40 Rashida Tlaib followed Hezbollah's orders to carry out a day of unprecedented anger,

03:47 following an explosion at a Gazan hospital, lying about Israel's responsibility for the

03:53 attack, which the United States Intelligence Agency said was not perpetuated by Israel.

04:00 Whereas over 300 arrests were made following the illegal occupation of the Capitol Complex

04:06 on October 18th, 2023, for violations of District of Columbia law, such as crowding, obstructing,

04:14 and in commoting, and for assaulting police officers.

04:18 And whereas members of Congress who denounce the United States while praising terrorist

04:24 organizations are unfit to hold office, now therefore be it, resolve that Representative

04:32 Rashida Tlaib be censured.

04:36 Representative Rashida Tlaib forthwith present herself to the well of the House of Representatives

04:41 for the pronouncement of censure, and Representative Rashida Tlaib be censured with the public

04:46 reading of this resolution by the Speaker.
