00:07 the launching of Rice Paddy Art in Ilocos Norte.

00:26 President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. was blessed with flowers

00:30 in his father's house.

00:32 It was the 106th birthday of former President Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr.

00:37 For the peace and order that he fought and stood for,

00:39 the development that he inspired our own citizens to build,

00:43 and the dreams that he left in the hearts of many,

00:46 he remains a true Filipino and Ilocano icon

00:50 whose exceptional mind matched the nation-loving spirit

00:54 that he possessed and that he demonstrated.

00:58 So as we remember and pay tribute to his memory,

01:01 let this gathering serve as a testament

01:04 to the unwavering pursuit of unity

01:07 that he so passionately espoused for our people.

01:10 But according to the President,

01:12 there is no need for a grand celebration

01:14 to give glory to his father.

01:16 He said, it is better to give life, especially to the youth,

01:20 to the legacy left by the former President.

01:23 Let us act in our own small and unique ways

01:27 to support government, to support our people,

01:30 and all the initiatives and programs,

01:32 and continue to instill in every Filipino

01:36 the sense of ownership and accountability

01:38 in building our great nation.

01:41 The Philippines is ours to love,

01:44 and the path to a new Philippines,

01:46 a more equitable, sustainable, and resilient one,

01:50 is ours to make.

01:51 The President also witnessed the launch of RISE PadiArt

01:54 at Mariano Marcos State University.

01:57 His image and slogan, "Bagong Pilipinas," is on display.

02:01 According to MMSU and PhilRISE,

02:03 it is a sign of their support for the current administration's program,

02:07 especially in the use of food security

02:10 and strengthening the agricultural sector in the country.

02:18 as it signifies the kind of collaboration needed

02:26 The President also emphasized the importance of technology

02:28 in the agricultural sector,

02:30 especially as it is a major help in the production

02:33 and supply of agricultural products.

02:35 There's a necessary work to be done

02:38 for us to be able to, as I say,

02:40 take the new technology from the laboratory

02:44 to the rice field.

02:45 And that is where we now come in.

02:50 And when I say "we,"

02:51 I say "we" in terms of the Department of Agriculture.

02:55 That is what the DA will do now,

02:58 which will get the best technology, especially now.

03:02 Technology has become so important.

03:03 The new technologies have become so important

03:05 because of climate change.

03:07 A lot is changing.

03:09 A lot needs to be changed.

03:11 We need to study

03:12 so that we can make sure

03:15 that we have a stable source of supply

03:21 and that that supply is affordable to ordinary Filipinos.
