AFP, 'di magpapatinag sa China lalo na ngayong may suporta ang mga kaalyadong bansa at gov't officials
Transcript
00:00 The Armed Forces of the Philippines thanked the support of several countries
00:04 in the issue of the territory of the Philippines in the West Philippine Sea.
00:07 Louisa Erispe, in Detail, Rise and Shine Louisa.
00:10 China should be blamed for the last incident in the West Philippine Sea.
00:21 That's what AFP spokesperson Medel Aguilar said
00:25 after the Philippines met with the Philippine Coast Guard.
00:30 It was dangerous for the Chinese ships to dock with the Philippine ships.
00:36 AFP said that the Philippine ships were not hit that Friday.
00:42 They deployed small Coast Guard vessels but they were fast and maneuverable.
00:50 They were able to stop the Philippine Coast Guard
00:54 but our resupply vessels were hit.
00:58 They did dangerous maneuvers that are frightening to the civilians
01:05 and reporters who ride the Philippine Coast Guard.
01:10 Since they are the ones who initiated this illegal action and offensive action,
01:14 all consequences thereof shall be blamed to the China Coast Guard and to the authorities.
01:21 It is expected that this kind of action by China will continue.
01:25 But Aguilar believes that the Philippines will gain strength
01:30 when it comes to the issue.
01:32 If the situation does not change, this situation will probably last.
01:38 But we'll see how it will develop later on because right now,
01:43 what we are seeing is demounting pressure against China
01:46 because of their illegal and offensive actions in the West Philippine Sea
01:51 that is harming other people.
01:53 We are being helped to raise our level of monitoring the maritime domain awareness.
02:01 And I think these assets belong to countries such as the United States.
02:09 But we also monitor the entry of China ISR capability.
02:16 Maybe it is also for their own narrative.
02:21 Meanwhile, the AFP expressed its gratitude
02:25 for the continued support of other countries and their officials.
02:30 The AFP also believes that it will greatly help if the assets of the Philippines
02:36 will be added to protect the territory of the country in the West Philippine Sea.
02:41 Even us without asking a certain amount,
02:44 but some are volunteering to support additional funds for the military.
02:51 How can we help to add our maritime assets to protect the West Philippine Sea?
02:58 The more assets that you have, the more feasible you can be
03:04 and the more that you can deploy your troops.
03:07 Luisa Erispe for the Morning Show of the Philippine Nation,
03:11 Rise and Shine, Philippines.
