  • last year
A pregnant teacher who died at a property in Craigton has been named locally as Marlene Sturrock.

The 35-year-old worked at Sandwood Primary School and was an aspiring actor and singer.

Police are treating the death as suspicious and a missing persons hunt is underway at Murdock Country Park, which is linked to the investigation.

Next up, a petition has been launched after the M&S Foodhall in Bishopbriggs announced the closure of its cafe.

The move has caused an uproar in the community and locals are now fighting to save it, branding it a ‘social hub’.

A spokesperson for the store said they are using the space to expand the food area and add a clothes section, making the shop bigger and better for customers.

And in other news, the Clydebank singer Marti Pellow has cancelled all upcoming dates on his current tour due to his health.

He said that while it breaks his heart, he is acting on strict orders from his doctor to take a period of rest.
