00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World. My name is Theo Heusenbetts and today is the
00:04beginning of another lovely sunny day here in the city of Manchester. Summer is well
00:09and truly upon us and with that comes an amazing range of fun events and activities to get
00:13yourself along to, so let's go through some of them right now.
00:17Now we mentioned MCR Live 25 in last week's edition of this video, but it's such a big
00:21deal we thought it was worth a bit more focus. You should already be aware of the pop-up
00:26bar that's occupying the centre of Piccadilly Gardens and that is only the start. If you
00:30wander down to St Peter's Square there are stalls selling vinyl records and some awesome looking
00:34vintage goods as well as some planned block parties up in the northern quarter. Later
00:39in the week we're also going to be walking along the Music for the Senses art trail which
00:43is dotted around a few well known sites in the city. Now those of you who watched our
00:48video on Castlefield at the end of last week will have noticed that the brilliant Science
00:52and Industry Museum made it in as a must visit location and that reputation has only been
00:58enhanced ahead of summer with a new promotion labelled Summer of Senses. There are events
01:04running right up until the end of August with options including disco dancing inside a massive
01:08replica brain, peering into the science behind some of the brilliant optical illusions that they
01:13have there or travelling into a huge ear canal. It's a must visit particularly for families who are
01:19preparing for the summer holidays and need a way to keep the kids occupied. Finally Manchester
01:23International Festival is back with a bang this Thursday. It's a celebration of Manchester's most
01:27creative individuals and groups and is offering some events led by such stars as Patrice Evra,
01:33Eric Cantona and the Royal Ballet. The lineup for the festival is online and it's absolutely
01:37something you should be getting down to see. But that's all for now thank you for watching and follow
01:41Manchester World for more.
