William Branham An Exposition of the Seven Church Ages

Members of William Branham’s cult of personality are indoctrinated to believe that William Branham had a divine revelation concerning the Seven Churches of Asia Minor described in the Book of Revelation (which Branham re-branded as Church “Ages” instead of Churches), and they also claim that he revealed the mystery behind the Seven Seals from Revelation 6 — though now two cult churches agree as to what, exactly, this “mystery” was. Other church leaders who base their theology on Branham’s alleged divine revelation appear to support this notion, referring to Branham’s claim that “angels” met him to give him these “secret mysteries”.
While Branham did make this claim of angelic visitation and being the “Voice” that proclaimed the “mystery” behind the Seven Seals and their relation to the church ages, these “revelations” were not his own. Branham heavily plagiarized the works of Cyrus Scofield and Clarence Larkin when he introduced these elements of his stage persona. In fact, some members who accidentally discovered Larkin’s book, “Dispensational Truth”, say that this was one of the primary reasons that they left the “Message” and its many splinter groups.
The most obvious plagiarization can be found within Branham’s claim that the Book of Revelation was incorrect in describing “seven churches”, which he explained during a series of sermons about “church ages”. When Branham plagiarized Clarence Larkin’s works, he did not even take the time to change Larken’s timeline, and then added “Messengers” and claimed that he knew the “Messenger” for each age. He also did not take the time to check whether these alleged “Messengers” were alive during their “age”. St. Columba, for example, was not even alive during the timeline Branham copied from Larkin.
