U.S. biotech company Moderna will begin supplying the nation with its new coronavirus vaccine in May.
An agreement has reportedly been reached with the South Korean government to provide a sufficient amount for 40 million people.
Meanwhile, the WHO has approved the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine for emergency use, making it the first addition to the UN’s Emergency Use Listing.
Global regulatory experts and a WHO team confirmed the vaccine met safety and efficacy criteria, and that the benefits of usage offset potential risks.
The organization will support countries that lack access to necessary cooling equipment in order to deliver the vaccine that requires super-cool storage.
