On top of record-setting downpours,... North Korea, is also battling the global COVID-19 pandemic.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un ordered special aid for Gaeseong, the city, currently on lockdown over concerns of virus.
The regime's Korean Central News Agency reported this morning that Kim ordered food and financial aid to people in that city.
In late July, the regime took the "preemptive measure of the total lockdown" on Gaeseong shortly after the North reported that a "runaway" who had defected to the South three years ago had recently returned.
And as a precautionary measure, the regime put the city under complete lockdown.
