And, as of Sunday, more than 328-thousand South Koreans had applied for the government's latest round of emergency support payment for the self-employed.
This latest round of fund applies to freelancers and the self-employed such as golf caddies and gym trainers whose income has been impacted by the pandemic.
They will each get around 12-hundred U.S. dollars, divided into two payments.
The government will continue to accept online applications until this Friday and begin accepting offline applications next month.
