South Korea reports 1,029 cases Friday, a return to numbers above one thousand

코로나19 1천29명 신규확진…외국인 입국자 PCR 음성확인서 8일부터 단계적 의무화

The nation's COVID-19 tally bounced back up to the one thousand mark after a slight dip on Thursday.
Most of the 1-thousand-29 cases came from the capital area, as cluster infections continue... including more than 900 cases at a detention center in Seoul.
Starting January 8th, all foreigners entering South Korea will be required to turn in PCR test results upon arrival, which confirm they tested negative for COVID-19.
The government will announce new social distancing measures on Saturday... as current special prevention measures in the capital area run until this weekend.
There were 17 more deaths... raising the toll to 9-hundred-17.
