Demand for Japan tours drops 83% y/y amid boycott

The on-going boycott of Japan has led to a huge fall in the number of tours to the country.
According to South Korean travel agency Mode Tour,… demand for tours to Japan in September dropped by more than 80 percent on year.
Instead, people chose to go to Southeast Asian countries, such as Malaysia,... which saw an on-year increase of 50 percent.
Meanwhile, the number of Koreans using mobile roaming services in Japan also dropped, with KT Corporation reporting a 45 percent on-year decrease last month during Korea's Chuseok thanksgiving holiday.
