Good afternoon, it's forecast to be a pretty hot autumn afternoon today with highs nearing 30 degrees Celsius.
It will be mainly sunny up north but due to a trough of low pressure, Jeju and Jeolla and Gyeongsangnam-do provinces will see some rain into tonight. It will be cloudy for southern regions.
We now need to look out for the 18th typhoon of the season, Mitag. It is forecast to pass through Shanghai in China tomorrow afternoon, approaching the Korean peninsula by dawn on Thursday. Typhoon Mitag to be as powerful as Tapha, bringing heavy showers and strong gusts.
As the typhoon approaches, southern parts of the country and Jeju will see rain on Tuesday, expanding nationwide by Wednesday. Mountainous regions on Jeju could see up to 600 millimeters, up to 400 millimeters of near Jirisan Mountain in Gyeongsangnam-do Province.
