S. Korea's car exports rise 4.6% y/y in August
  • 5 years ago
South Korea's total car exports have risen for a fifth straight month.
It's the first time that's happened in two years, and it happened despite weak demand abroad.
According to the trade ministry,… the value of South Korea's car exports last month was around 2-point-9 billion U.S. dollars, which is an increase of 4-point-6 percent from a year ago.
The number of units shipped, however, was down slightly.
Apparently the value of the exports was boosted by more expensive models such as SUVs and electric vehicles becoming more popular in the United States and Europe.
