U.S. set to hit China with new wave of tariffs on September 1

U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed on Friday local time... that new tariffs on Chinese goods will kick in at the start of September.
The U.S. is expected to slap 15 percent duties... on around 112 billion U.S. dollars worth of Chinese imports starting Sunday.
Trump added that trade talks between the two countries will continue... and that a meeting has been scheduled for September.
The new tariffs are adding fresh woes to the global economy,... amid fears of slow growth and signs of a recession in several major economies.
So far, Washington has slapped tariffs on some 250 billion dollars of Chinese goods,... while Beijing has retaliated with tariffs on 110 billion dollars of U.S. imports.
