Japan's decision to remove South Korea from its whitelist will not result in direct embargoes or a drastic cut in exports, but it will raise uncertainties for Korean companies.
This is according to a Goldman Sachs report on the potential effects of the bilateral trade dispute.
It was introduced to reporters by the Blue House today.
The report says because South Korea and Japan are mutually dependent on trade,... the whitelist measure is unlikely to have a great impact on their trade activities.
But it explains Korea could face some supply disruption,... while Korean firms will have to better manage their inventory in the long run.
And these uncertainties combined, could hurt private investment in Korea in coming years,... negatively affecting Korean business sentiment.
