The finance ministers of the Group of Seven countries say they've "agreed in principle" to tax tech giants such as Google and Facebook on their offshore income.
In a meeting near Paris on Thursday, the ministers reached a consensus on what they called "a minimum level of effective taxation" the tech giants should pay.
However, an actual rate was not decided.
France hailed that agreement, but the U.S. stressed that more work needs to be done.
