Profits at LG Electronics were also down in the first quarter... by almost 19 percent from a year earlier. LG said Tuesday that it recorded 12-point-8 billion U.S. dollars in revenue... and profits of 771 million. Compared to the quarter before, that was a decline in revenue of around 5 percent, but an increase in profit of almost 11 fold. LG posted record sales of home appliances, including air purifiers, but losses for its mobile communications and home entertainment businesses.
