North Korea's state TV aired a documentary about Kim Jong-un's trip to Hanoi.
For more than an hour, it placed greater focus on the leader's Vietnam visit than the summit with U.S. President Donald Trump... and did not mention the fact that it ended without an agreement.
Oh Jung-hee has the full story.
Of the Korean Central Television's 75-minute documentary on Kim Jong-un's recent trip to Vietnam,... the North Korea-U.S. summit took up less than 10 minutes.
While Kim Jong-un and President Trump failed to reach an agreement following a breakdown in talks,... the documentary portrayed the summit in a positive light.
"The Hanoi summit was assessed as an important chance for the two countries to deepen mutual respect and trust, developing relations to a new level. The two sides agreed to continue productive dialogue to address the issues discussed."
But the North Koreans' disappointment in failing to strike a deal with the U.S. was visible.
Parting after the suspended summit, Trump gives a firm handshake,... while Kim Jong-un has a sad smile.
The North's Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho stands at the back with a grim expression on his face... and the regime's top nuclear negotiator Kim Yong-chol says an awkward goodbye to Trump.
Top North Korean diplomats had a press conference later that night after the summit to rebuke claims Trump made at his press conference earlier in the day, but that was not included in the documentary.
The documentary instead... highlighted Kim's visit to Vietnam.
It was the first time in 55 years that a North Korean leader has visited the Southeast Asian country, after the regime's founder and Kim's grandfather Kim Il-sung did so in 1964.
The documentary showed Kim meeting with the Vietnamese President, Prime Minister and National Assembly chairwoman... and the warm welcome Kim received from the citizens, stressing Pyeongyang and Hanoi were able to enhance their friendship.
