U.S. and Russia clash in UN Security Council over Venezuela political crisis

The political crisis in Venezuela has reached the United Nations.
On Saturday at the UN Security Council, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo urged countries to recognize the leader of Venezuela's opposition-run Congress, Juan Guaido, as president... and support the country's transition to democracy.
That prompted Russia to accuse the U.S. of backing a coup attempt.
Guaido last week declared himself interim president... in the biggest challenge in years to the rule of socialist leader Nicolas Maduro.
Venezuela's economy has been collapsing under Maduro,... leading to food shortages and inflation that's risen this year to 10 million percent.
