The death toll keeps on rising on Sulawesi Island in Indonesia where a 7-point-5 magnitude earthquake and tsunami hit on September 28th.
According to Indonesia's Disaster Management Agency on Sunday.... the death toll had increased to well over 17-hundred with 2-hundred-65 people classifed as missing in Palu,
Most of the bodies were buried immediately in mass graves after they were found... to prevent the possible spread of diseases.
Local officials say, they fear more than 5-thousand others could be missing as more than 3-thousand homes were damaged or sucked into deep mud when the quake caused loose soil to liquefy.
The government is planning to end search operations by Thursday and those that cannot be found by then will be declared missing.
