Jinja Protesters Set Fires Over Bobi Wine Arrest

Protesters in the town of Jinja, Uganda, took to the streets and set small fires on Thursday, August 23, in demonstrations against the jailing of MP Bobi Wine.Wine, a former musician, escaped a weapons charge but was re-arrested and charged with treason on August 23, CNN reported.He has been in detention since August 15, was originally arrested on August 13 along with multiple lawmakers, and has been accused of taking part in the stoning of a convoy carrying President Yoweri Museveni.
