Kofi Annan devoted his life to peace and justice: S. Korean gov't

World leaders are paying tribute this weekend to Kofi Annan, the former Secretary-General of the United Nations, who died on Saturday after a brief illness.
Annan was 80 years old.
Those who've made statements praising the late leader and mourning his loss... include the current UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres,... Russian President Vladimir Putin, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu... Indian PM Narendra Modi and many more.
The South Korean government said in a statement that it and the South Korean people, who have a special relationship with the UN, will remember Kofi Annan in their hearts.
And Annan's successor, former Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, said Annan will be remembered for his vision and courage.
Annan led the UN from 1997 to 2006, and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2001.
