In Seoul, the mercury reached almost 34 degrees Celsius... and the day's hottest temperature was recorded at 37-point-3 in the city of Yeongcheon.... in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province

Japan experienced the hottest day in half a decade yesterday: a sizzling 40 degrees celsius.
