National Assembly to hold May extraordinary session

The National Assembly is scheduled to kick off an extraordinary parliamentary session for May on Wednesday.
During a meeting between the floor leaders of the major political parties,... National Assembly Speaker Chung Sye-kyun called on the parties to work to improve people's livelihoods and tackle other pending issues... such as ratifying bills that would support the implementation of the Panmunjom Agreement reached at the inter-Korean summit.
He also warned that the lawmakers should not end the session with nothing to show for it, like they did in April.
The April session came and went with no achievements -- with parliament at a standstill because parties were bickering over disputed bills and an opinion rigging scandal involving a ruling party lawmaker.
