சென்னை விமான நிலையத்தில் விமானங்கள் வருகை, புறப்பாடு குறித்த தகவல்களை அறிந்து கொள்ளும் அறிவிப்பு பலகையில் இருந்து தமிழ் மொழி நீக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. தமிழ் மொழியை சொந்த நாட்டில் இருந்தே அழித்தொழிப்பதற்கான வேலைகள் அதிகரித்துக் கொண்டே வருகின்றன. சாலையோரங்களில் இருக்கும் மைல்கற்களில் தமிழ் மொழி அழிக்கப்பட்டு இந்தியில் எழுதியது முதல் இந்தியை திணிப்பதற்கான முயற்சிகள் அரங்கேறி வருகின்றன. தமிழை சென்னை உயர்நீதிமன்ற வழக்காடு மொழியாக அறிவிக்க முடியாது என்று உச்சநீதிமன்றத்தை காரணம் காட்டி மத்திய அரசு கைவிரித்துவிட்டது. இந்நிலையில் தமிழக மக்களுக்கு அடுத்த அதிர்ச்சியான விஷயமாக சென்னை விமான நிலைய அறிவிப்பு பலகையில் விமானங்கள் வருகை மற்றும் புறப்பாடு தொடர்பாக வெளியிடப்படும் தகவல்களில் இருந்து தமிழ் மொழி நீக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. தமிழ், ஆங்கிலம், இந்தி என்று 3 மொழிகளில் இதுவரை அறிவிப்புகள் வந்து கொண்டிருந்தன. ஆனால் நேற்று முதல் தமிழ் மொழியில் வரும் அறிவிப்பானது நீக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதனால் பயணிகள் மட்டுமின்றி பயணிகளை அழைத்து செல்ல விமான நிலையம் வருவோரும் தங்கள் மொழியில் அறிவிப்பு இல்லாததால் அவதிக்கு ஆளாகினர். இந்நிலையில் அறிவிப்பு பலகையில் இருந்து தமிழ் மொழி நீக்கம் ஏன் என்று சென்னை விமான நிலைய இயக்குநர் விளக்கம் அளித்துள்ளார். தாமதத்தை தவிர்க்கவே தமிழ் மொழியில் வெளியிடப்படும் அறிவிப்பு நிறுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளதாக அவர் கூறியுள்ளார். காலை நேரத்தில் அதிக அளவில் விமான போக்குவரத்து இருப்பதால் அந்த நேரத்தில் 3 மொழியில் அறிவிப்பு வருவதால் பயணிகள் தகவல்களை தெரிந்து கொள்ள தாமதம் ஏற்படுவதாக இயக்குநர் கூறியுள்ளார். இதனால் காலை நேரத்தில் மட்டும் இந்தி, தமிழ் மொழியில் அறிவிப்பு வெளியிடப்படாமல், ஆங்கிலத்தில் மட்டுமே வெளியாவதாகவும் அவர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
