John Kasich quits presidential race, handing GOP nomination to Trump
  • 8 years ago
U.S. media outlets say Donald Trump's only remaining competitor for the Republican presidential nomination in the United States is suspending his campaign.
The Ohio Governor John Kasich has canceled a scheduled media appearance and is due to make a statement right around now.
It leaves the way clear for Donald Trump to secure the Republican nomination in the race for the White House.
His likely opponent in the November election will be Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton, who has an almost insurmountable lead over Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.
