Trikonasana is a yoga pose that provides children with the best form of maintaining good health. This gives them a chance to get their nerves and muscles flexible. It is usually done with the eyes open so that there is body balance.

Meaning :

Trikon means triangle and asana means posture so Trikonasana means a triangular posture.

Technique :

Stand straight and keep the feet separate.
Now turn the right leg outwards for around ninety degrees and the left foot by around fifteen degrees.
Keep the center of the left foot arch and the center of the right heel aligned together.
Press the feet on the ground and ensure that the body weight is balanced on both the legs.
Breathe in deeply and breathe out bending the body to the right and below the waist.
Now allow your left hand to go up while keeping the waist straight.
The right hand comes downwards on the floor.
Now keep the right hand on the ankle and stretch the left arm upwards and make sure your head is in a neutral position.
The body should be bent sideways and do not lean forward or backward.
Keep the pelvic region and the chest wide apart and stretch maximum.
Now breathe out and relax more and breathe in and bring your arms to the sides.
Now straighten the feet and then repeat the exercise on the other side.

This asana helps to keep the ankles, legs, chest, and knees strong.
It also aids in stretching and opening the groins, hips, calves and the hamstrings.
This helps to maintain a balance between physical and mental stability.
It aids in digestion and also brings down stress, anxiety, sciatica, and back pain.

Care and Caution :

You should not do this asana if you suffer from diarrhea, migraine, low or high blood pressure and you should ensure you do not perform this asana.
