00:00Hello viewers, in this video we'll talk about a step-by-step process to check and increase
00:13SharePoint storage using both admin credentials and site administrator access. If you're looking
00:19to manage or increase your SharePoint storage, make sure to watch till the end. How to view
00:26available SharePoint storage before increasing SharePoint storage, it is wise to check the
00:32available storage. You can do that with or without admin credentials. How to view SharePoint storage
00:39without admin credentials? If you don't have global admin rights but still want to check
00:44SharePoint storage, you can do it with site administrator access. For that, log into your
00:52Office 365 account. Go to Apps, Find and click on SharePoint. Select the site that is assigned
01:13to you. Click the Settings gear icon in the top right corner. Select Site Information, click
01:26on View All Site Settings or All Settings. Under the Site Collection Administration section,
01:33click on Storage Metrics. Here, you can view space used by each folder or document library.
01:40Now, if you want to increase to the size of SharePoint storage, then remove unwanted file,
01:47folder or attachments. This is the simplest way to manage SharePoint without admin access.
01:54This method helps you monitor storage without needing full admin rights. Let's check how to
01:59view storage limit using admin access. Here you have two ways to view them. Quick method is
02:06to log in Microsoft 365 Admin Center. Click on Show All. Go to Reports, click on Usage, select SharePoint in the list.
02:28Next. Open Storage tab. You will see the total storage used and availability.
02:44Second method in Microsoft 365 Admin Center. Click on Show All and go to SharePoint Admin Center,
02:52Verify Admin Credentials. Now, in the SharePoint Admin Center, click on Sites then Active Sites.
03:05Here, select the site whose storage you want to check. On the right panel, you'll see list of sites and storage
03:12used with other details. You can also apply filter to change view from large to small.
03:18The right eye icon tells you how much space your SharePoint site has consumed or used by all active SharePoint sites.
03:28Third method. Another way to check the storage of particular site with admin access, click on Site.
03:36Go to Site.
03:40Click on Gear Icon.
03:44Site Information.
03:48Click on View All Settings.
03:57Under Site Collection Administrator, click Storage Metrics.
04:02This is the same view that Site Administrator Access users can check.
04:06Here, you can view space used by each folder or document library.
04:11On the right corner, you'll also see the total storage usage and available space for the site.
04:21Bonus tip, you can also open storage metrics directly by following these URLs.
04:28Just remember to change the tenant and site name before using.
04:32This works for both admins and site collection administrators.
04:42Now let's talk about increasing SharePoint storage.
04:45To increase storage, go back to the SharePoint Admin Center and click Settings on the left sidebar.
04:53Scroll down to find site storage limits, make sure it's set to manual so you can assign space manually to each site.
05:02Now go back to ActiveSites, select your site and click Edit under Storage Limit.
05:09Enter the new storage limit and click Save.
05:16If you are not able to increase site storage, then you can purchase additional storage by visiting Purchase Service section under Billing.
05:24Method 2 to Increase Site Storage Using PowerShell
05:28If you are an IT administrator, then it is very easy to increase SharePoint storage using PowerShell command.
05:35I have picked one site that's storage I want to increase.
05:39First command is to install SharePoint module.
05:43Then we log into tenant account using admin credentials.
05:47Then we check the current storage.
05:49After that, we will increase the storage.
05:52If you are a beginner, then follow the screen.
05:55Run Windows PowerShell as an administrator.
06:04Install SharePoint Online module.
06:18After installing, log in to your tenant account using admin.
06:22Credentials, remember to change tenant name.
06:37Let's check the current storage of the site.
06:44Run command after changing tenant and site name.
06:47Type last command to change site storage.
