S. Korea sees local infections rise back above 100

Our starting point tonight: 113 new cases of Covid-19 in the nation. It's the 14th day in a row that that country has managed to keep that number below 2-hundred, but health officials remain on alert as the slowdown has plateaued.
What's even more alarming though is the surge in cases with unknown epidemiological links.
25-point-4 percent. That means for every one in four cases in the last two weeks, the transmission route remains untraceable. It's a new high.

Over the past two weeks, more than 25 percent of South Korea's new cases have had unknown routes of infection, the highest proportion so far, which has the authorities concerned.
"Because more than 20 percent of cases have unknown infection routes, it seems there are many hidden infections in our communities."
Out of the 2-thousand-55 cases from September 3rd to September 16th, 5-hundred-22 have not yet been traced and are still under epidemiological investigation.
Since the 3rd of September, the number of local infections in South Korea has been falling overall, dropping below 100 for three days in a row this week, but it's now back in triple digits.
As of Wednesday, the nation reported 113 new cases.
Of those, 105 were local.
This brings the total number of cases to 22-thousand-5-hundred-4.
No additional deaths were reported, leaving the death toll at 3-hundred 67.
Due to the lingering cluster infections and untraceable cases, the health authorities are urging people not to travel and to stay at home during the upcoming Chuseok holiday.
